01 — Build

Custom software and web application development

We turn requirements into working websites, web applications, APIs and internal tools — built around how your business actually operates, and structured so they can be maintained after launch.

When this is the right starting point

  • Your team relies on spreadsheets for something that should be an application
  • You have a validated idea and need a first working version
  • Off-the-shelf tools almost fit, but not quite
  • Your product needs new features and nobody is free to build them
  • Two of your systems need to exchange data through an API
  • Your website no longer reflects what the business does

What the work covers

Web applications

Customer portals, dashboards, booking and ordering systems, and internal tools that run in the browser.

Websites

Fast, accessible company and product websites that are straightforward to update.

APIs and backends

Well-documented APIs, business logic, authentication and data storage that other systems can rely on.

Features and enhancements

New functionality added to an existing product without destabilising what already works.

How a build project runs

  1. 01

    Define

We agree on goals, users, must-have features and what can wait for a later version.

  2. 02

    Design the approach

We choose an architecture and tools that suit the problem, your budget and who will maintain it.

  3. 03

    Build in increments

You review working software at regular points and can adjust priorities as you see it.

  4. 04

    Release and hand over

We test, deploy and hand over code, documentation and access.

How we work on every project

What you receive

  • Working software deployed to an agreed environment
  • Source code in a repository you control
  • Setup, configuration and deployment notes
  • A summary of known limitations and suggested next steps

What helps us start

  1. 1A description of the problem and who the software is for
  2. 2Any existing designs, documents or examples you like
  3. 3Systems the software must connect to
  4. 4Constraints such as deadlines, hosting or required technologies

Questions about this service

All questions
Do you build from an existing design?

Yes. We can work from designs, wireframes or written requirements. If you have none, we will help you define the essentials before development starts.

Can you add features to software someone else built?

Yes. We review the existing code first so new features fit the current structure and do not break what already works.

Which technologies do you use?

We choose technology to suit the problem and who will maintain it. If you already have a stack, we will usually work within it.
